A-Kerr's Bengal Cats
A-Kerr's Bengals is a well established name in the Bengal and cat world. Libbie Kerr founded the cattery in 1989 with her husband, John, in Delaware, Ohio. At that time Bengals were a new and exciting breed and Libbie was at the forefront of their development. Her two sons, Jay and Theo were an essential part of socializing, and caring for the Bengal cats with their parents. Libbie is now retired from the everyday functioning of the cattery and of the Bengal world but enjoys her pet Bengals, Mira and Rose, as well as an occasional cat show and acting as consultant for all things Bengal.
Sami Kerr, Libbie’s daughter-in-law, met Jay in 2004 through working with Libbie, is now the driving force of the future as the owner/operator of the cats and cattery. Today, their two small children, Chase and Viv are now the Bengal kitten tamers and helpers of the next generation of A-Kerr’s Bengals. The Kerr’s home and cattery is now located in Cardington, Ohio, about 45 minutes to an hour north of Columbus, Ohio. Sami Kerr is actively involved in the preservation of the Bengal cat breed and providing education through her volunteer positions as :
Current President and long time member of The International Bengal Cat Society
Current Bengal Breed Council Secretary for CFA (Cat Fanciers Association)
Current and Founding Secretary of The Bengal Alliance, CFA club.
Current member of the TICA Bengal Breed Committee.
A-Kerr's produces mainly brown spotted Bengal cats and kittens, but occasionally A-Kerr’s has charcoals and snows such as the seal lynx, or seal mink. Hopefully, the future will bring more of what A-Kerr’s clients know and love and lots of colorful Bengal kittens! Bengal cats and kittens are usually available and for sale year round, but please contact Sami to see what Bengal kittens are available or to get on our waiting list for coming Bengal litters or retired breeding cats. A-Kerr’s registers and exhibits their Bengal cats and kittens with TICA and CFA... look for Sami at shows around Ohio and the Great Lakes region or follow A-Kerr’s on Instagram and Facebook for the best snapshots of our life with the kittens and daily to weekly updates!
